The Androscoggin River Alliance
is a group of ordinary, concerned citizens who want the best for our communities, and the Androscoggin River. A significant portion of the Androscoggin River has never met state or federal standards for clean water, and it still doesn’t today. Although the river is much cleaner than it used to be, it is still plagued by many problems.
           
Native fish species are block from the historic migrations by many dams on the river’s main stem and its many tributaries. Development along the river corridor threatens this scenic waterway. And public access will move to the forefront as the river becomes cleaner.
